a busy couple of weeks

So, last time I posted anything, I was at a concert of the Drive-By Truckers in Portland. While there, I did some yarn shopping at the Yarn Garden.

The Koigu is for socks for me and I chose a slightly contrasting color for the heels and toes. I bought some of the color on the left last year and knit some socks up for someone else but I adore these colors! I tried to buy something different than I normally would but I just couldn’t do it! The needles are Lantern Moon ebony needles – I had to see for myself.

The next day we went to the coast and stopped at a few casinos, too. It was a beautiful day to be outside. We stopped at a few different places along the way, with a view of the ocean.

There are more coast pictures (and the rest of the weekend) over at my flickr pages.

On Saturday, we went hiking at Silver Falls State Park. It is really beautiful there. This was my first time at Silver Falls, but I hope to go many more times.

Then, as far as summer events, this last Friday we went to the Oregon Country Fair. And Saturday, while I stayed home and rested (if that’s what you call wrestling 2 girlies to the vet), DB went to Ozzfest. I took some pictures at the fair, but haven’t done anything with them yet … so, next time.

Knitting . . . I finally started my sock pal’s socks last week. I am knitting her a pair of Embossed Leaves socks from Cherry Tree Hill yarn. The lace pattern seems to knit up rather quickly. I’ll have pictures next time. I actually ordered her a special yarn but I think it had to be dyed to order because it was taking awhile (I just got it today) so I used something else.

As usual, there are several random socks on the needles and nothing else really being knit at the moment. But, there has been other stash enhancement.

The Opal Tiger is for a pair of socks for DB and myself. And I think the first thing I’ll cast onto my *pink* Denise needles is a Clapotis, but that won’t be for awhile yet.

Well, I squeezed almost everything in that I meant to for now. I’ll post more in a few days.

Happy knitting!
