In October, my mom came to visit. As is usual, we ended up where there was yarn (she’s not a knitter though) and my mom fell in love with a scarf that was on display. I had no idea how to knit with the yarn once I saw it but decided to give it a go. The yarn was like netting and actually kind of fun to knit. Here’s the finished scarf modeled by my mom (she was freezing as I took this picture).

The yarn is Premier Yarns Starbella and the pattern is on the label, a ruffled scarf.

Next, is a hat for my hubby. Rich found a website that had beautiful merino sweaters and hats for men. That prompted him to ask if I had anything like that in my stash to make him a watch cap. I had a merino and cashmere mix that worked out beautifully.

The hat is so soft and warm. And looks nice too, really nice as far as the fabric goes.

So, now if I can just get myself in gear to block a few things and take some good pictures, I’ll have a few sweaters to share. Soon, I hope, soon.

For other babies, not for me. These are two projects I finished awhile back but dillydallied on getting the buttons sewn on until this past weekend. The buttons pushed them over the edge, for me, of how freaking cute they are to look at!

Tiny tea leaves cardi, knit in Plymouth Encore. I finished knitting this in September but just got the buttons done over the weekend. I love how it came out. When I decided on pink buttons, I hoped it wasn’t a mistake but I’m really pleased with the slight contrast of the buttons and sweater. I think it’s so pretty! I hope that Mom and baby get happy use of it.

Next …

Autumn Leaves, though I called it Sprinkles because the yarn reminded me of ice cream sprinkles. This is knit in Berroco Comfort DK. I had always wanted to give this yarn a try and it was nice to work with. This is for a 3-6 month old. She wasn’t in that age group when I started it in October but she is now so I hope it’s a good size for her. I love the little flower button. I decided to just go with one button rather than the 5 or so in the pattern.

I have more finished items to show, but I’ll save that for another day. This adorable baby stuff had to be shared first!

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! I hope you’re having a wonderful day if you celebrate. I’m having a great day with tons to be grateful for in my life.

Candie is just one thing I’m grateful for having in my life. What’s better than a sweet cuddly kitty!?

A sock done, undone.

I finished the first Conina sock just now. These are a gift for someone. The yarn is Cascade Heritage in a teal color. I love this pattern, it’s really beautiful!

Then, as I measured the above sock to my foot, I noticed this…

.. a hole! In my fairly new socks! Ugh.

The body’s missing.

I’ve finished both sleeves of Nilgiri now and only the body’s missing. I hope to cast on for the body tomorrow.

Happy Halloween! I thought the title was fitting for the day! Now I’m off to finish “It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown.”

Sprinkles fits better than Confetti, don’t you think? Anyway, the actual pattern is Autumn Leaves. This is for a friend’s 9 week old baby girl. The yarn is Berroco Comfort.

Nilgiri

My new project making progress, Nilgiri. I fell hard for this sweater as soon as I saw it. And though I’ve only completed one or two of her patterns (I also have several I’ve bought waiting to be knit), I just love Laura’s designs! Now I’m off to start the second sleeve. More details later.
